About Horning Village
'The charming riverside village of Horning, probably the
prettiest on the Norfolk Broads, is the perfect central
location for exploring the waterways, and the North Norfolk
coastline. It has a riverside village green, shops, pubs,
restaurants and a leisure centre with small pool and gym.
There are several boatyards where you can hire a boat for a
day or more, and some of our properties have free mooring.
If you have always wanted to try your hand at sailing,
yachts can be hired from the Norfolk Broads Yacht Co.
Sailing lessons or a ‘skipper for the day’ can be arranged.
Or take a trip on Horning’s own Mississippi river boat, the
“Southern Comfort” and see the riverside from the top deck.
The Norfolk Broads are renowned for fishing, and there is
more information here. For nature lovers there are lovely
riverside walks and bird sanctuaries, gardens and nature
trails to explore. Just a few minutes up river there is the
unspoilt Black Horse Broad. If you like a more active
holiday, Horning is in a good central location for cycling,
and there is the famous mediaeval city of Norwich to visit,
with its fine buildings and shops, and stately homes to
tour. For the children there are the long sandy beaches, the
marine centre and fun fair at Great Yarmouth, more seaside
attractions at Cromer and Sheringham, zoos and model
railways, all within easy reach.'
